Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM)

Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) can give insights beyond standard fluorescence microscopy and non-linear microscopy by analyzing fluorescence decay times. Fluorescence lifetime are sensitive to microenvironmental changes of pH, O2 content, viscosity and others. In addition, FLIM can be used as a label-free, auto-fluorescence technique and hence is non-invasive. For example, simultaneous NAD(P)H and FAD decay measurements give insights into metabolic states of biological samples.

TOPTICA's Offer

TOPTICA’s femtosecond fiber lasers are easy to use, high performance lasers for two-photon (2p) FLIM. The lasers feature a fast electronic trigger output which serves as reference for time-correlate single photon counting (TCSPC) electronics in Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) as well as gated detection. Integrated AOM and GDD control makes the integration very easy.
TOPTICA’s iBeam smart series equipped with the pulse option provide nanosecond pulses for 1p excitation. The pulse duration, repetition rate and duty cycle can be control externally to gain full flexibility.
