    Lastek was formed 25 years ago and has grown to 15 employees, including 6 PhDs and a handful of science graduates and engineers. We signed up as TOPTICA distributor for Australia and New Zealand since 2005. Lastek specialises in photonic instrumentation for research and besides lasers also sells systems for all forms of optical spectroscopy, multiphoton microscopy and related componentry. We in Australia and New Zealand, being so far away from most manufacturers of advanced scientific instruments, must be able to service essentially everything we sell, and so we have a very strong technical team handling both sales and service as well as well equipped workshops and laboratories at the University of Adelaide where we are based.

It emerged from former Azurlight Systems SAS, a world-leading manufacturer of high-power low-noise fiber lasers and amplifiers, via a friendly acquisition of the majority ownership of Azurlight by TOPTICA. Located in Pessac/Bordeaux (France), the French hub of the TOPTICA group, demonstrates TOPTICA´s commitment to the local high-tech and research ecosystem, including a Joint-Lab arrangement with the LP2N Institute of Optics Aquitaine. Besides the development and manufacturing of fiber lasers and amplifiers, TOPTICA Photonics SAS will also become the local point of contact for sales & service of all TOPTICA products in France.
